If you were a fan of the 1992 film Sister Act, you don't want to miss seeing all of your favorite characters come to life in the new Sister Act Musical Broadway show. In this excellent film adaptation directed by Jerry Zaks with music by the great Alan Menken, the audience gets to revisit all of their favorite characters and songs. Patina Miller will be reprising her Olivier Award nominated performance as Delores Van Cartier. This show is scheduled to begin previews on March 20, 2011 with official opening on April 20 at the Broadway Theatre.

Reno lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier thought she had it all – a great job, sexy boyfriend, and all the glitz and glamour a woman could ask for. But when Deloris witnesses her boyfriend murder a man in his club, she is forced into police protective custody acting as a nun living in a convent in San Francisco. She is forced to look and act the part down to the stuffy nun's habit. Deloris is immediately at odds with the strict lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior who doesn't approve of Deloris' fast lifestyle. Eventually, the two find some middle ground and Deloris is able to breathe some life into the church by involving the other nuns in some community outreach projects that become wildly successful. Deloris' cover is eventually blown and she is forced to run but is helped along the way by her new sisters.
